InstaDeep’s Co-Founder and CWO, Zohra Slim, was recently invited to participate in the “Equity in Information Age Leadership” (EIAL) conference, organised by the social enterprise Global Share. Zohra was asked to speak in the “Women Entrepreneurs in STEAM in MENA” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) session, to an audience of around 1000 women from the region.
Zohra’s experience and words of advice as a self-taught tech entrepreneur from Africa were part of a wider agenda that also included panels and presentations on Women Cheveners in STEAM, Minding the Gender Gap on Wikipedia, Intellectual Property, Licensing and Creative Commons and more.
The EIAL conference was supported by the distinguished Chevening organisation, which is funded by the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. This support meant the delegates were able to attend this valuable conference and networking event free of charge.
Zohra said of the event, “I am always keen to support women considering careers in tech and related industries, and I hope my talk gave the audience confidence and insights they can use to put themselves forward as the next generation of female leaders”.
