Organized by Connect’Innov in partnership with the Biotechpôle of Sidi Thabet, Innov’In Bio took place on 4-5 November and included plenary presentations and panel discussions, as well as a national competition for the best innovative projects in Biotechnology, Health and Well-being.
InstaDeep was invited to talk in the session on “Success Stories in Biotech”. Amine Kerkeni, InstaDeep’s Head of Engineering, spoke about the company’s expertise, and presented the DeepChainTM protein design platform. Amine ended the session with an invitation to apply for the computing power initiative announced by InstaDeep and AI Hub earlier this month.

About Amine Kerkeni
Amine leads the Engineering team at InstaDeep. He joined the company in 2017 after a career in software development where he led engineering teams in various industries (semiconductor, consumer electronics, investment banking). Initially, Amine started Deep Learning and AI as a hobby, but ended up dropping everything to pursue his goal of deploying artificial intelligence to solve real life problems. He is driven by the ambition of replacing classic operational research techniques with AI.
About Connect’Innov
Connect’Innov’s mission is to identify, support and promote innovation in the field of HealthTech, and in particular, in E-Health, MedTech and BioTech (Health, Life Sciences and Well-being). They aim to provide the necessary expertise and support for the launch, development and success of innovative Tunisian projects in the HealthTech field through several stages:
– Entrepreneurship awareness and the organization of boot camps and training sessions around innovation, entrepreneurship and the structuring of projects in HealthTech.
– The structuring and validation of ideas and innovative projects within the HealthTech Connect’Innov incubator, using a 12 month cohort system.
– Support and structuring of innovative startups in the pre-acceleration phase, using a 6 month cohort system.
– The internationalization of innovative Tunisian projects and the connection between the different ecosystems in HealthTech.
